# What are Fleet Marks and Fleet Credits used for in Star Trek Online?

Fleet Marks are resources you contribute to eligible fleet projects. Those contributions award Fleet Credits, which your character can spend at unlocked fleet stores.

## Fleet Marks and Fleet Credits are different currencies

Fleet Marks are contributed to eligible fleet projects. Fleet Credits are the personal currency you earn from accepted fleet-project contributions and spend on eligible fleet-store purchases.

## How do you earn Fleet Marks?

### TFOs

Run activities that list Fleet Marks as a reward. Eligible Task Force Operations are a straightforward repeatable source. Check the listed rewards before you queue, because not every TFO awards Fleet Marks. Bonus Marks events can increase eligible mark rewards while they are active.

### Other activities

Fleet Action daily missions and some other missions or activities can also award Fleet Marks. The exact amount depends on the activity and, in some cases, your performance.

## How do you earn Fleet Credits with Fleet Marks?

### Contribute first, spend the Credits later

Fleet Marks do not become store currency while they sit in your inventory. When an eligible fleet project accepts your Fleet Mark contribution, you receive Fleet Credits. Contributing other resources accepted by fleet projects can also earn Fleet Credits.

### Fleet Credits are personal

The Credits belong to that character. Leaving one fleet and joining another does not erase the Fleet Credits you already earned.
