The Star Trek Online Foundry was a **PC tool for creating and sharing player-made missions**. Cryptic retired it on **11 April 2019**.

## When was the Star Trek Online Foundry removed?

The Foundry was removed from the PC version during maintenance on **11 April 2019**.

It let PC players create and publish their own playable STO missions using maps, dialogue, objectives, NPCs and encounters.

## Why did the STO Foundry close?

Cryptic said the knowledge needed to maintain the Foundry at its quality standards was no longer available. It also said the development time and resources required to maintain the system would impede new features and systems.
