How do you invite your own alt to a fleet without another player in Star Trek Online?
Prepare the receiving alt, then switch to a character already in the fleet with Invite to Fleet permission. Send the invitation to the alt’s full character name and account handle, switch back and accept.
Step by Step
Invite your own alternate character
- Prepare the alt. Log in to the character you want to invite. It must not already belong to a fleet.
- Check the faction. Both characters must be on the same side: Federation or Klingon. If unsure, open Duty Officers → Overview: Diplomacy indicates Federation; Marauding indicates Klingon.
- Allow invitations. On the alt, go to Social → Search → Privacy. Set Search Visibility to Visible to All and Allow Fleet Invitations to On. Note the full character name and account handle from the portrait menu.
- Switch characters. Log in to a character already in the target fleet. Check Fleet Settings to confirm its rank has Invite to Fleet permission.
- Send the invite. Open Fleet → Roster → Invite, enter the alt’s full character name and handle, then confirm.
- Accept it. Switch back to the alt, accept the invitation, and restore your preferred privacy settings.
Important
The invitation is still subject to normal fleet requirements
Both characters must be eligible for the same fleet, and the inviting character must have permission to invite members.
